+ How does PH Design do it?

Everything in the shop is done by hand. There is no AI, mysterious coding, or fancy rendering software.

+ Whom does PH Design serve?

People who like art or cities. People who are curious about our built environment. People who want products on our Etsy shop. People who enjoy reading our blogs.

+ What is the common problem of a place?

"The proportion of the world's population living in cities has grown from 13% in 1900 to nearly 50% now."

Urban migration is not a problem; it is a trend. Changes in various lifestyles have led to drastic shifts in habitat practices. This shift further impacts how we deal with natural resources and the immense global warming issues. The Covid-19 pandemic also put our dwellings under the spotlight. It made us rethink many companies’ services and practice areas. How we program our individual spaces will result in the overall quality of our public space (and vice versa), further impacting the "place" as a whole.

+  What is PH Design's approach to Built Environment?

Hepburn is opinionated. So if you find her urban perspective doubtful or you need more evidence to be convinced, she will explain it with understandable sketches without complications. (check out Hepburn’s Letter to Tiffany)

If you do not need any of her services, that’s wonderful too!

+ Why does PH Design use passion fruit as a cover photo?

It was inspired by the painting below. The beauty of this fruit speaks to our philosophy: there is mindful attention behind each of our work, a depth thought behind each sketch.

+ Wait ... so what does PH Design have to do with "Placemaking" or "Place management"?

There is no direct correlation between what we do and the "placemaking" movement. Hazel and Hepburn simply like to share what (art) they love and what they have discovered from our built environment. When our community improves, we improve, too.
